ABOUT MONIQUE FINK
Monique Fink is a classically trained cellist. She began her studies at an early age of four with the Suzuki Method. Before heading into University, Monique completed many musical camps including Suzuki Camps in Bellingham, Langley, Seattle. She was also a part of the Summer Pops Youth Orchestra.
Upon graduating from High School in 1999 she continued her passion for music at Douglas College in New Westminster, B.C. Shortly after she transferred to the University of Victoria where she obtained her Bachelor of Music Degree in 2005.
Monique has completed many Royal Conservatory of Music Exams in both the cello and the piano, obtaining first class honors in many of them.
She has played in various orchestras over the years such as the University of Victoria Orchestra, Burnaby Symphony Orchestra, Vancouver Academy Orchestra, and has played in chamber music groups for over 10 years.
Just recently Monique has entered the fiddle scene picking up the violin in 2008. She is an active member of the Victoria Fiddle Society as well as The Conservatory Fiddles. She now teaches beginner through intermediate fiddle lessons on cello, violin and viola.
Monique now resides in Victoria, B.C. where she enjoys teaching cello to people of all ages, beginner through advanced levels.
During the summer months Monique can be seen on the streets Victoria where she busks on Government Street as well as the Inner Harbour.
